A joint Coalition and Syrian Democratic Forces raid killed two top ISIS leaders, CENTCOM confirmed on Friday.
The Coalition-SDF raid took place on May 17 in Deir Ezzor province, Syria, killing regional ISIS leaders Ahmad ‘Isa Ismail al-Zawi and Ahmad ‘Abd Muhammad Hasan al-Jughayfi.
The removal of these ISIS leaders will disrupt future attacks against innocent civilians and our security partners and in the region. Due to the relentless pressure maintained by the SDF, ISIS’s remaining leadership in the area continues to dwindle,” CENTCOM said.
Al-Zawi – allow known as Abu Ali al-Baghdadi – was the ISIS leader for North Baghdad, and facilitated directives from senor ISIS leaders to terrorists in North Baghdad.
